Love going through NYFW looks, one of my favorites from Spring 2012 was Kelly's collection, I've been a huge fan of her interiors and she perfectly translates her creative design into her clothing collection. I'm specially loving these amazing minis and all the patterns.

A Grand Gesture

So I woke up this morning looking for some inspiration for my interior design projects and stumbled upon Ralph Lauren's new and superbly chic womens and home store, a Beaux Arts mansion on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. I was never much of a fan of the Beaux Arts style or classical French interiors until recently when I've started having to research these styles for projects, I've now actually learned to appreciate all traditional styles and am in love with Baroque and Rococo. No one says it better than Lauren himself: "That’s always been my philosophy: timelessness, not trends, I like materials that get better with age, like leather, marble, and exotic woods, they provide a sense of value.”

Então, eu acordei esta manhã à procura de alguma inspiração para os meus projectos de design de interiores e tropeçei num artigo que mostrava a nova e super chic loja de Ralph Lauren , uma mansão com estilo Beaux Arts, no East Side de Manhattan, New York. Eu nunca fui muito fã do estilo Beaux Arts ou interiores clássicos franceses, até recentemente, quando eu comecei a ter que pesquizar estes estilos para meus projetos de interiores, agora realmente aprendi a apreciar todos os estilos tradicionais e estou apaixonada por barroco e rococó . Ninguém diz isso melhor do que Ralph Lauren si mesmo: "Essa sempre foi minha filosofia: intempestividade, não as tendências, eu gosto de materiais que melhoram com a idade, como couro, mármore, madeiras exóticas, dão um senso de valor."

Hot 70's in the air - Marc Jacobs Spring/Summer 2011

I've never really been one to have a certain kind of style, I could never categorize myself as vintage, bohemian or sophisticated, etc, I'm sort of ADD that way, I guess just like the rest of my lifestyle and also for the fact that I'm always trying to experiment everything, I could say that my style is really just eclectic, I could one day feel like wearing a boho look and the next something very dark and chic to the next wearing all sorts of prints and bright colors. But I can say that I've developed a liking to certain things over the years, some being bright prints and colors specially the color purple, making Kenzo, L.A.M.B., Missoni, Versace, DVF among others some of my faves. This automatically attracts me to a couple of fashion shows this season like the Marc Jacobs SS11, you just say the word amazing 70's print dresses and I'll be there, I'm loving all these looks from his collection, the rich colors, bright prints, flowing dresses and the big obilike flower belts specially. Everything is this collection was perfect from the accessories to the make up and big frizzy hair. Not only do I wish I could wear all these but also paste them on my walls as art. We've also seen the 70's inspiration in other collections this springs like Anna Sui's which had a lovely Bohemian vibe to it, and also with the return of the wide leg pants, I guess 70's feel is in the air this season.

Eu nunca fui muito para ter um certo tipo de estilo, eu nunca consegui classificar meu estilo como vintage, edgy, boêmio ou sofisticada, etc, eu sou meia estranha dessa forma,eu acho que pelo fato de que eu estou sempre tentando experimentar tudo de vez, eu poderia dizer que meu estilo é realmente apenas eclético, um dia quero usar um look boho e o próximo algo meio edgy ou chique, e no próximo usar estampas e cores, meu jeito de se vestir muda diariamente dependendo do meu humor. Mas eu posso dizer que eu desenvolvi um gosto para certas coisas ao longo dos anos, como estampas e cores fortes, tornando estilistas como Kenzo, L.A.M.B., Missoni, Versace, DVF entre outros os meus favoritos. Essa obsessão por estampas e cores automaticamente me atraiu a um algums desfiles de moda nesta temporada como o Marc Jacobs SS11 nas fotos acima, amei os vestidos lindos de festa com estampas do anos 70, amei varios looks cheio de cores ricas, estampas brilhantes, vestidos leves e longos e pricipalmente os cintos obi de flor. Tudo nessa coleção foi perfeita dos acessórios para o make up e os grandes cabelos frizzy. Não só eu desejo poder usar todas essas roupas mas também colá-las em minhas paredes como arte. Vimos essa mesma inspiração dos anos 70 também em outras coleções essa temporada como Anna Sui que tinha uma vibe Bohemian e seventies nas ropuas lindas dela, e também com a volta de calças com pernas largas, acho que sensação dos anos 70 com certeza está no ar nesta temporada.

I know it's a few seasons ago but I'm still very much in luv with Alexander Wang's sweatshirt/leather infused sporty inspired collection from Spring 2010, I really can't get over this collection, I wish I could own every piece, but like they say if you can't buy, DIY! so i diceded to cut apart this sweatshirt and add a little shoulder leather detail to give the wang feel I'be been wishing for. I must admit I loved the end result...What did u guys think?

Hello blogetes, não sei se voces chegaram a ver a coleção super esportiva com tons de moleton e couro de Alexander Wang Primavera 2010, claro já faz um tempo mais simplesmente não consigo esquecer a coleção, ele foi quem totalmente inspirou esse trend de moleton em tudo e principalmente naquela bolsinha Alexa inspired que estar everywhere ai no Brasil! continuo apaixonada por aqueles looks e se pudesse compraria todos eles, mas como alguns dizem: se você não pode comprar, DIY! Então decidir cortar esse sweater de moleton, acrescentar um detalhe de couro no ombro para dar a sensação Wang que tenho desejando e voilà!!. Devo confessar que adorei o resultado final ... O que vcs acham? O blog estara de ferias a semana que vem pois estarei no Brasaaaaa! Fortaleza here I come! não deu pra esperar até o ano que vem, senti muita saudades uauaa e quem disse que vou perder Los Hermanos no Ceará Music, nana, vejo vocês por lá então!

New dress designed and made by me, I just fell in love w/ the print on this fabric that I bought in Brazil, I luv the orange pop of color, it went perfect the orange color lipstick I've been dying to try on, it's certainly the new daring color to wear on your lips, have you guys tried it yet? On a diffferent note I've been so behind on my blog posting that I totally forgot to post the fact that one of my looks was chosen for the look of the month for the Spanish style virtual magazine called Must! Mag! wow who knew! Thanks to Trendtation and Must Mag!

Hello lovelies, hows everyone's weekend going? a couple of weeks ago I went to get my make up done at Saks with the amazing make up artist Maygan and she showed me how to create the smokey eyes look step by step, she was awesome, specially because when it comes to make up, I tend to stick with the basics (black eyeliner/blush/lip colour) since I don't have a clue how to beyond that lol, but she was so great I totally recomend if anyone is ever in Miami and want to shop make-up, to stop by Saks and see her. Anyways unfortunetly I lost the tutorial pictures I did with her, duhh, but I took the courage to recreate the look with different colors once I got home (good for practicing) and I think it came out good for a rookie.

Olá queridas, como vai o fim de semana de vcs? Algumas semanas atrás, eu fui fazer minha maquiagem na Saks Fifth Avenue com a maravilhosa makeup artist Maygan (quem recomendou ela foi a Mariah no blog dela) ela me mostrou como criar o look smokey eye passo a passo, pra mim k sou perdidinha com make foi ótimo, quando se trata de maquiagem, eu tendo a sempre fazer o básico (eyeliner preto/blush/batom), fora isso pode esquecer haha, mas ela foi tão gente boa e me deu um tutorial de como criar o look, infelizmente eu perdi as fotos que eu fiz com ela, duhh lerdona mesmo, mas tomei a coragem de recriar o look com cores diferentes e mais soft quando cheguei em casa (bom para a prática) e eu acho que saiu bem para uma novata hehe. Se uma de vcs algum dia passar por Miami com certeza deve passar na Saks do Bal Harbor e vê-la, ela faz um make free se quizer e te recomenda os melhores produtos, sem falar do shopping que é fora do serio, tem todas as lojas e marcas mais desejadas (Marc Jacobs, Chanel, Louis V. etc.) e ainda seu personal shopper o maravilhoso Rafa (Brasileirão e muito legal) que pode te ajudar com o resto da suas compras na Saks.

While on the subject I wanted to post some make up essentials I can't live without, I've always strugle with finding the right concealer (hate my dark circles) and none's ever seemed to work for me, welllll Maygan showed me this incredible Laura Mercier Undereye Perfercter (where have you been all my life??) that you use under your concealer as sort of a primer (I use MAC's concealer over it) and it's amazing how it perfectly works trust me it dosen't look the same i you just wear concealer without the primer, ahhh I finally found my perfect concealer, it's been a long search...

Aproveitando o assunto de make queria postar alguns essensiais que não vivo sem, eu sempre tive dificudade em achar o corretivo que realmente fucionasse pra mim (odeio as minhas olheiras hehe) e nenhum que ja comprei nunca pareceu funcionar direito ahhhff e ja passei por varios kkk, beeemm a Maygan me mostrou esse primer incrível da Laura Mercier chamado Undereye Perfercter (Hellooo onde você estava toda a minha vida?) que você usa por baixo do seu corretivo (eu uso corretivo da M.A.C. na foto abaixo) e é incrível como funciona perfeitamente! Nooossa confiem em mim não têm o mesmo resultado usando só o corretivo sem o primer (pelo menos não pra quem te olheiras bem escuras e óbvias) ahhh finalmente encontrei o meu corretivo perfeito kkk, tem sido uma longa busca.

Mixing colors and prints

I've always wanted to mix different colors/prints in my outfits, but something about it has always scared me a little, but enough so that I never do it, I guess it's the fear of it not working out as I thought, so I went on  a hunt for styling tips on how to mix different prints and colors when creating a look, and post some inspirational looks for the rest of us almost daring fashionistas.

1. Stripes: Stripes are a perfect match for florals, polka dots and graphic prints, even better if you can pair the stripe tone to match a tone in the floral or polka dot pattern.

2. Florals: Try the same print in different tones,  also different scales work great together, for instance , you can pair up a small more subble floral pattern with a floral pattern of larger scale as long as you have one main color on both pieces

3. Leopards can be mixed with florals or polka dots, but keep one of the prints, preferably the leopard to a minimum or in a smaller scale, this Dolce and Gabanna look above is a perfect example.

4. When mixing patterns, it's nice to go neutral, different neutrals go great together and pulls a more sophisticated look.

5. Mix tough and soft looks, a military jacket with a floral dress is a perfect contradicting look, and mixing lace, tulle, and soft beige skirts with leather/tough jackets & tops create a perfect mix between hard and soft.

Some color schemes that work great together: Browns with mint, turquoise and/or reds
                                                                      Pastel greens with pastel pinks
                                                                      Citrus colors like lemon green and yellows with beiges
                                                                      Grey goes perfect with most colors but even better with pinks
                                                                      Maroon and navy blues
                                                                      Yellows go well with greens and blues

Eu sempre quis misturar cores/estampas diferentes nos meus looks, mas sempre tive um pouco de medo de explorar essa idea por medo de não sair bem como queria, então decidir pesquizar algumas dicas sobre como misturar estampas e cores diferentes na criação de um look, e postar algumas inspirações e para nós fashionistas que queremos experimentar o trend.
1. Listras: Listras forma uma combinação perfeita com flores, bolinhas e designs graficos combinando os tons das estampas.

2. Florais: Tente a mesma estampa em tons diferentes, também diferentes escalas fucionam em conjunto, por exemplo, mix uma estampa sutil com uma estampa floral de maior escala, comtanto que tenha uma mesma cor principal em ambas as peças

3. Leopardos podem ser misturados com flores ou bolinhas, mas manter uma das estampas, o leopardo de preferência a um mínimo ou em menor escala, este look da Dolce e Gabanna acima é um exemplo perfeito.

4. Quando misturar estampas, é bom ir neutro, neutros diferentes ficam otimos juntos e faz um look mais sofisticado.

5. Uma jaqueta verde militar com um vestido floral é uma contradição perfeita.

Just wanted to post this short film of Chanel's Cruise collection 2011, lots of people (mostly you tube comments) can say this film was totally pointless and superficial and there's no story to it, but I'll admit it I liked it!! it can be lots of things, but it's about the FASHION, which I might add is freaking gorgeous, and remember it's a film (FICTION) mostly to showcase the amazing collection! It's also about the clash between the old and the new! What did you lovelies think of it?

Basic and neutral short dress that I designed, I luv this dress because it covers on the top but shows a whole lot of legs on the bottom for the perfect balance between chic and sexy, I also love the draped criss-cross detail that I added on the sleeve, I think it takes the dress from basic to chic, also with the perfect accessories it's taken to a whole new 'not-so-basic' level.

Vestido neutro, curto e básico que eu criei, amo este vestido porque cobre na parte de cima, e é curto embaixo para dar o equilíbrio perfeito entre chique e sexy, eu também adoro o detalhe drapeado cruzado que adicionei na manga, eu acho que leva o vestido do básico ao chique, também com os acessórios certo, o vestido é levado para um nível totalmente novo não "tão básico".

Hi ladies, Happy July fourth weekend! I'm finally back home and although I was loving vacationing in Brazil, I did sort of miss some things like my own bed, around the clock AC and most of all my babies Bella and Marley. But I already miss Brazil and everyone that I met there, of course they were all amazing, I mean, with all its social problems, chaotic traffic and insane heat, Brazil is still number one in my heart. I loved the city of Fortaleza with all its live music bars and incredible beaches, and of course the shopping experience there is amazing, with the local private labels and boutiques, I do have to say that one has to be ready to spend lots when shopping in Fortaleza, there are mostly high end boutiques and stores but the clothes (all to die to for -totally worth buying). A couple of favorite pieces that I came back with were the amazing cigarette Handara jeans and Handara jean dresses, and I specifically fell in love with the new Melissa shoes collections.
I'm not new to Melissa Jelly shoes and I don't think any Brazilian girl is, as I remember being a little girl and wearing the clear jelly Melissas, and I loved them since then, I remember as a child getting new ones and not wanting to wear them because they smelled so good (like strawberry bubblegum) that I didn't want the smell to go away as they got worn. But since then Melissa has grown as a brand and has established partnerships with great architects such as Zaha Hadid, and celebrated designers such as Vivienne Westwood, Alexandre Herchcovitch, and even one of the greatest fashion designers of all time Jean Paul Gautier, to create truly memorable designs. Plastic doesn’t really sound very attractive, but whoever has tried on a Melissa knows how extremely comfortable, long lasting and beautiful they are. At the store I just couldn't stop smelling them I was starting to scare the sales lady) kidding-not really- but I did want to buy every single one of them, unfortunately that was impossible so I bought four of my favorites from the whole store including the Vivienne Westwood 3 straps shoe and the Alexandre Herchcovitch Troupe oxford wedge. I loved this editorial they did with Ditta Von Teese, it’s very creative and her look and style goes perfect with the collection.

Olá meninas, feliz fim de semana! Estou finalmente de volta, e embora eu estava amando minhas férias no Brasil, estava sentindo falta de algumas coisas, como minha própria caminha e especialmente meus amores Bella e Marley. Mas eu já estou sentindo saudades do Brasil e de todas as pessoas maravilhoas que conheci lá. Com todos os seus problemas sociais, trânsito caótico e calor intenso, o Brasil ainda é #1 no meu coração. Eu amei a cidade de Fortaleza com todos os seus bares de música ao vivo e praias incríveis e, e claro, a experiência de shopping lá é incrível com os talentosos designers locais e boutiques. Tenho que admitir que achei a maioria das lojas muito caro, mais é pelo fato de a maioria das lojas e marcas serem high end e tudo muito lindo, de qualquer forma acaba valendo a pena comprar algumas peças. Uma das coisas que eu mais gostei foram as calças jeans e vestidos da Handara, e pricipalmente me apaixonei com as novas coleções dos sapatos Melissa.
Os sapatos da Melissa não são novidades pra mim e acho que também não é para nenhuma menina brasileira, eu me lembro quando era ainda criança e usando as Melissas jelly transparente, e eu as amava, me lembro que quando ganhava uma melissinha nova dos meus pais, não queria nem usá-las porque elas tinham um cheirinho tão bom (como chiclete de morango) que eu não queria que o cheiro fosse embora. Mas, desde então, Melissa tem crescido como uma grande marca e estabeleceu parcerias com grandes arquitetos, como Zaha Hadid e designers famosos, como Vivienne Westwood, Alexandre Herchcovitch, e até mesmo um dos maiores fashion designers de todos os tempos Jean Paul Gautier, para criar coleções memoráveis. Plastico realmente não soar muito atraente, mas quem ja provou uma Melissa sabe como os sapatos são extremamente confortáveis, duradouros e lindos. Na loja eu simplesmente não conseguia parar de cheirar-los, estava começando a assustar a vendedora) hehe brincadeirinha, talvez- mas serio eu queria comprar todos os sapatos, infelizmente, isso era impossível, entao acabei comprando quatro dos meus preferidos, incluindo o sapato de "Vivienne Westwood estilo três tiras" e o "Alexandre Herchcovitch Troupe" oxford. Amei o editorial acima que fizeram com Ditta Von Teese, ficou muito criativo e seu look e estilo ficou perfeito com a coleção. Os meus favoritos abaixo:

Helloooo girls! How's everyone? I miss blogging, I haven't posted in forever, n. 1 is the because of the lack of time, and the most important and upsetting reason the fact that I forgot to bring my camera charger ( the number one thing I was worried about forgeting lol), now I'm taking pics w/ my third rate emergency camera which sucks, I have 3 words for Fortaleza: HOT HOT HOT, Im glad I brought all the right clothes: lightweight fabrics and lots of skirts. I was hoping to do a post of the city of Fortaleza, but I think my camera will only be ready on wed or thursday when I receive my charger by mail, even then I was told by everyone here not to take my professional camera out on the streets with me If I want to avoid being robbed) I'll still try to post more pics of the city later this week. I have a lot to say about the city here, but I'll leave for later, mostly I'm loving the shopping part of my trip, of course lol, I fell in love with the shoes from Melissa specially the Vivienne Westwood collection and the Alexandre Herchcovitch one as well, I went crazy at the store lol. A post on the shoes I got will be here soon as well. Here is a stylepost from tonight at the Dragao do Mar Center, it's beautiful there but I will have to go back during the day to take some pics of the area hopefully w/ my good camera. I'm wearing a cropped jacket I got here at the Iguatemi, a forever21 tank, bag and shorts, and Bakers shoes. Wish everyone a great week, muahhh!

Tô com saudades de blog, faz um tempão que não posto nada por aqui, nº 1 é por falta de tempo, e a razão mais importante e perturbadora foi o fato de que eu esqueci de trazer o meu carregador da câmera (a coisa que eu estava mais preocupada pra nao esquecer acabei esquecendo kkk), mais sério tô morrendo de raiva de mim mesma, agora estou tendo que tirar fotos com a minha pobre coitada câmera de emergência que é muito ruim de qualidade. Uma palavra que tenho a dizer sobre Fortaleza: Quente Quente Quente kkk, a Flórida também é as vezes mais quente que aqui mais estava mal acostumada a ter ar condicionado em tudo que é canto por lá! Mais fora isso estou amando minha visita aqui. Pelo menos eu trouxe todas as roupas certas: tecidos leves e muitas saias. Eu estava querendo fazer um post da cidade de Fortaleza, mas acho que a minha câmera só estará pronta na quarta ou quinta-feira, quando eu receber o meu carregador pelo correio, mesmo assim, foi-me dito por todos aqui para não levar a minha câmera profissional comigo quando sair pela cidade se eu quiser evitar de ser assaltada. Pôxa é meio triste essa situação aqui mais de qualquer forma eu ainda vou tentar postar mais fotos da cidade nesta semana. Eu tenho muito a dizer sobre a cidade aqui, mas vou deixar para mais tarde, principalmente estou amando a parte de compras de minha viagem, kkk é claro né meninas, me apaixonei com os sapatos da Melissa, especialmente a coleção de Vivienne Westwood e do Alexandre Herchcovitch também, eu fiquei louca na loja queria comprar todas. Hello Girls! Unfortunately I've neglected my blog for the past few weeks, several things were going on that have kept me very busy and left me with no extra time at all, these past few weeks I was planning my parent's vowel renewal ceremony and party ( which took place this last Sunday) and also trying to get everything ready for my trip to Brazil! Yeaaaaa I'm so excited, so here is a quick outfit post on my look for the party, and I will try to keep you guys updated on my trip w/ pictures and styleposts as much as possible as long as I have Internet access (I will be at the beach in some remote island for a couple of days) so I might not have access. I was so tired this morning, so I choose to go comfortable for the day, my trip to Brazil is coming up in the end of the month and all of the sudden I have all these errands that need to be taken care of before I go. I'm so excited about Brazil, last time I was there was in 2004 for two months and another trip is long overdue, this time I will be going to Fortaleza and Salvador, I've never been to Fortaleza but I hear the local designers and clothing stores are very cool, and unique, can't wait, they just had their Dragao Fashion week which I will be making a post on soon regarding my favorites from all the fashion shows.

Found this commercial/video of Daria for Prada perfume on youtube, isn't she just soo cute? Turns out this poem was discovered among the Gnostic manuscripts at Nag Hammadi (a city in Upper Egypt) in 1945, and which speak about a series of paradoxical statement regarding the divine feminine nature. Luv the video and the poem specially, very interesting and inspiring in many ways, what do u guys think?

I don't know about you girls but I've loved Zac Pozen from the start of his career, He's just a genius with perfect taste and makes women's bodies look amazing in anything he creates, so I will just have to go to Target first thing on Sunday to pick up at least one of these beauties, preferably the pink polka dot dress, it's just too cute to pass out, specially because here in South Florida we don't have stores like H&M and TopShop to quench our hot-designer-for-much-less-fashion thirst.

Soooo these shoes were one of my ultimate favorites pairs, I got them when I first went back to Brazil in 2004, I mean obsessed to the point where they were falling apart, (I just couldn't let it go!!) I just loved the way it curves in the front, the wedge heels, and the pale pink that went with almost anything, plus they're so easy to walk in, so I figured I would do both myself and the trash a favor and recycle them, recycling one little pair of shoes is ridiculously insignificant compared to the amount of trash we throw out every day (and things we could be recycling), but I figure I would do it anyways (green please!! I mean aren't we actually running out of landfill space to dump our trash in in this country? yes!), plus it's like I just got a pair of really cute new shoes! Except I spent the rest of the week peeling out heavy duty shoe glue out of my nails and fingertips, ummm maybe next time I'll figure out a better way. Still totally worth it and I like the outcome, but what do lovely bloggers think?

I thought I had done my blogging share for this weekend, but I just couldn't help posting about this collection, I'm just in love with some of these pieces! A girl can dream....Just when I was about to say that this collection would've been perfect if the fur was fake, I find out that it is!! Good Job Largerfeld! I'm totally loving the tweed/fur suits and jackets combinations and furry shorts, the iceberg landscape runway was a perfect match to showcase this hot collection.

Okay so I had promised myself that I wasn’t going to spend any more money until my trip to Brazil in June, but these nail colors were just screaming my name as I passed by the beauty isle on my way to getting some cold medicine at CVS this weekend, how could I resist vibrant neon summer colors at 4.95 each? Oohh and the workmen style lace-up booties and leopard sunglasses from Forever21 were on their way to my mailbox before I had made that non-spending promise so they don’t count, the blue flower clutch is from somewhere in Brazil, I have such a problem that I got it while getting my eyebrows done from my hairdresser, she was selling all kinds of different colors and totally talked me into it, but It was worth it, I luv it. I’m hopeless, how am I supposed to shop in Brazil if I’m spending all my money here! Shopaholic anonymous anyone? Can't wait to wear all these hot items!

Ahhh this collection left me breathless, all that came to mind was Byzantine Empress Theodora with her maginificent medieval embroidered and drapped dresses full of bright patterns and precious rocks.

Seeinh his collection was like time travelling to the mediavel ages but at the same time, he maintained beaultiful modern and simple silhouettes so that it wouldn't,I'm assuming, overpower the emboidery, colors and patterns of the garments. It makes me want to go back in time and live in the 5th century Roman Empire or the Elizabethan era, or since I can't really do that, maybe just read a William Shakespeare novel.

Of course his last piece was a brilliant golden feather gown with a tulle skirt that made me die for a moment. Reminded me of "Queen Elizabeth: the Golden Age with Cate Blanchet whoom I adore, I can't even remenber the number of times I've watched this movie, I just adore it, she was perfect for this role, no one else could've played this part the way she did, and the costumes ahhh no comments.
